Medal Of Honor Review II - Part 2 The missions are reminiscent of the those you may have seen on film. The omaha beach scene is cut straight from Saving Private Ryan, and the atmosphere has been captured perfectly. You will see fellow soldiers crouched sobbing behind the little cover available. Mortars explode all around you. It has to be experienced to be appreciated. Other missions remind me of films such as Where Eagles Dare, you will find yourself breaking into a prison to rescue an SAS officer, before sabotaging the bases primary defences. The weapons you will use in the game are quite authentic and realistic. Guns such as the famous tommy gun, the Garand and the sniper rifle, which is particularly satisfying to use. Also a selection of grenades and an RPG launcher. The graphics are very good in every respect. The environments are extremely well detailed and are a pleasure to behold. The characters are well detailed and move realistically. There is no slowdown whatsoever and I have a 700MHz P3. The sound is excellent. All the effects are very realistic and the voice acting is top notch. The music is very atmospheric and genuinely adds to the experience. You'll definitely want to turn your volume up while playing. I don't know of any other FPS that captures the atmosphere of war so well. The plot and game itself is well designed, and the whole thing plays out like a film. Although fairly linear, the game constantly throws up surprises and it never seems to get repetitive at all. The game features the usual multiplayer options should you wish to go head to head with some mates . A very good game indeed. |

Medal Of Honor Review III Allied Assault is the best war sim ever. It's just that simple. The reality of it all is mind-blowing, and all the different guns make the game a lot more interesting. I love hiding behind a wall and snipering your unsuspecting enemy in the head. If you manage to complete the game(which is considerably hard)then you can you can try it all over again on a different skill level. Running steathily through the enemy defences and machine-gunning everyone down down is immensely fun(call me a weirdo). Allied Assault is also good for grabbing your daily stress by the neck and shouting "YOUR NOTHING WITHOUT ME!". And the multiplayer game is superb. Now you can murder foreigners without having to leave your own home! But seriously, it is great fun playing with and competing against people in other countries, whether your playing an objective match, a team game or a free-for-all. Even though it may sound and look repetitive, with the same basic objective: Shoot the enemy, EA Games has somehow managed to make every level seem completely original. |
